Im a little bit confused on a construction (2.2) in Definition 2.1 from Mumfords & Odas Algebraic Geometry II on pages 124-125. It covers the material in the 'Red Book' in more depth with several more topics added. The published book was then written by Eisenbud and Harris alone. This book contains what Mumford had then intended to be Volume II. Mumford retired from the project, since his scientific interest is no longer in algebraic geometry but in computer vision.
